Carag, a half-human, half-mountain lion shape-shifter, spent his childhood in the rugged and untamed wilderness of the Rocky Mountains. Surrounded by the towering peaks and dense forests, he learned to survive with the grace and agility of his mountain lion family. However, Carag's insatiable curiosity about his human side led him to venture beyond the familiar boundaries of his mountain home. As a Woodwalker, an ancient shapeshifter who can move seamlessly between human and feline forms, Carag found himself drawn into the world of humans during the winter months when he could blend in more easily. He lived with a kind foster family, the McAllisters, who welcomed him with open hearts despite their initial surprise about his unusual nature. Carag's dual identity posed significant challenges. On one hand, he enjoyed the warmth and companionship of human society, learning from them and sharing stories around the fireplace during long winter evenings. Yet, on the other hand, a part of him yearned to return to the freedom of the mountains and the kinship with his feline family. Despite the initial difficulties in finding his place among humans, Carag gradually discovered that he could thrive by embracing both aspects of his identity. He began to teach the McAllisters about nature and wilderness survival skills while learning more about human culture and society from them. It was not until one fateful spring when a series of mysterious events threatened both his mountain home and the safety of his human friends, that Carag realized the true extent of his connection to both worlds. The adventure that followed led him on an epic journey where he would have to balance his loyalty to his mountain lion family with his growing attachment to the McAllisters. This pivotal moment marked a turning point in Carag's life, challenging him to make difficult choices and discover what it truly means to find one's place in the world.
